The Four Seals: the hallmark of the Buddha’s teaching

All that is conditioned is impermanent,
All that is tainted is suffering,
All phenomena are empty and devoid of self,
Nirvana is peace.

It is often said that the mark of a real Buddhist is that they accept these four seals. These four statements encapsulate the uniqueness of the Buddha’s teachings and set those teachings apart from all other religions and philosophies.

Our study of The Four Seals will continue for 15 weeks. It is suitable for students who have completed all or most of the earlier modules of the This Life course this year, or, who are familiar with The 4 Noble Truths and The 3 Yanas and have a regular meditation practice.
