Inspiring a Revolution in Your Heart and Mind

02/02/2022 @ 7:00 pm - 31/12/2022 @ 9:00 pm

A transformative course presenting the ancient wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism

Everyone welcome to join at any time during the year.

The path we offer embodies the authentic traditions of Tibet, in a way that is directly relevant to people in the modern world.

This course provides an introduction to meditation, and practical ways we can each cultivate the compassion that is already within us. It is based on the Buddha’s teachings on how our mind works and offers simple practices that have been practiced for generations in India and Tibet. Incorporating these practices into our lives brings us calm and peace, and enables us to better deal with whatever challenges we may face. The teachings, meditation and contemplations from this authentic tradition reveal how each of us can live a more meaningful, connected and fulfilling life.

This course includes:

  • Complete instruction on meditation
  • Learning to let your mind realise its natural clarity
  • Finding happiness through cultivating contentment
  • Exploring how thoughts and emotions colour our experience
  • Discovering how meditation can transform our perception, increase our confidence and fully connect us to the world around us
  • Cultivating love for ourselves and others
  • Developing genuine unbiased compassion
  • The powerful logic of compassion

Led by Western meditation instructors with many years of experience, each session consists of:

  • Meditation practice
  • Time for contemplation
  • Group discussions and Q&A, offering each student the opportunity to explore the teachings and practices in an open supportive environment and to connect with a community of practitioners.
  • Video teachings from and Tibetan and Western Buddhist masters including Sogyal Rinpoche, Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, Mingyur Rinpoche, Pema Chödrön and Sharon Salzberg.

An authentic lineage of meditation practice

There are so many different types of meditation available today, it can be difficult to know where to go and what to choose. One way to begin, is to seek out an authentic lineage of meditation that has been practiced and taught over centuries, yet is very applicable to our modern world. This course presents meditation methods taught by Tibetan meditation masters that have proved useful, relevant and transformative for generation after generation.

Our meditation practice is not just about a fleeting feel-good moment. This course will introduce you to techniques for drawing on the benefits of your meditation experience that you can apply in any situation. Imagine what life would be like if any conflict in yourself was resolved; you were free from anxiety and; most important of all, you had deep confidence in your true nature.

About the Buddhist approach

The key message of Buddha’s teachings is both empowering and optimistic: if we turn within, and deeply come to know our own mind, we will discover a kindness, compassion, and fully awakened state that are naturally ours. And through this simple, seemingly insignificant, yet revolutionary shift in orientation, we will come to discover our tremendous capacity to benefit ourselves and our world.

Buddha’s message, that our own mind plays a key role in shaping our world and reality, is as radical today as it was 2,500 years ago. For those of us who are looking for a more wholesome relationship with ourselves and the world around us, the Buddha’s message is an invitation for exploration and investigation.

The Buddha never asked anyone to just believe what he said, but instead asked us to deeply investigate his teachings before accepting it. In this course, we invite you to do exactly this, and will facilitate a process of

  • learning about what Buddha had to say about our mind, and its role in creating our reality
  • reflection and investigating this to see if it rings true to you, and challenging our own views and habits in light of our understanding
  • meditation – a direct, experiential process of clearly and directly seeing your own mind and reality.
